Your Lady T-Birds had a very eventful week! Opening up their district play with Boerne High School. They showed true grit and passion fighting until the last points of the game. Your lady thunderbirds never gave up and continued to focus on their induvial and team goals throughout the entirety of the match.

Your Lady T-Birds hit the road again traveling to Southwest Legacy for their annual SWISD Tournament. They finished with an overall record of 3-5 leading them into the silver bracket for the second day.
Day 1 - Harlandale/ YWLA/ Judson
Starting with Harlandale as their first opponent they rallied back and forth falling short in the first set 22-25 and then the second set 23-25. Your lady T-Birds did a phenomenal job in the back row racking up 39 digs with Ava Ricks Leading the pack with 16. They also accumulated 15 Kills with Samantha Franco leading with 5.
Their second match ended with a win over YWLA 25-18 and 25-20. The team had 41 total digs with Leilani Mckee providing 12. And Samantha Franco Leading in kills with 9. The team showed improvement in consistency and communication throughout the match!
Finishing the day with a Win over Judson Highschool; 25-14 and 25-23. The backrow leading the team in defense with 43 as a team total and Ava Ricks with 15! The team also had total of 5 aces and 16 total kills.
Day 2 - Burbank/ Natalia
Starting the day with Burbank the Lady T-Birds fell short 23-25 and 16-25.
Samantha Franco almost had a Double-Double with 10 kills and 9 digs and a recv rate of 2.1.
Finishing the day with a victory over Natalia 25-15 and 25-22. The girls came out with a vengeance after losing to them during the Devine tournament at the past tournament. The team had a total of 22 kills, 5 aces, 39 digs and 3 blocks.
Day 3 - East Central/ Lee/ Roosevelt
Starting off their morning with east Central the team had 17 kills, and 47 digs but fell short at the end losing in 2.
Their second match of the day was against Lee high school. The team had a total of 14 kills, 4 aces, and 29 digs. The Lady T-Birds excelled in communication and effort during this match but sadly fell short at the end losing in 2.
They finished out a long 3-day tournament with Roosevelt high school. The team collected 18 kills, 60 digs but again fell short. Our backrow did an amazing job at keeping the ball alive making amazing plays. Ava Ricks had a tournament high of 20 digs taking control of the back row herself.
Your lady T-Birds are now preparing for 2 tough district games next week against Pieper and New Braunfels.
