The Wagner Girls Cross Country team shined at the Edgewood Cross Country Relay Meet this Saturday September 7th. Relay team "One" which consist of Lillyanna Terry, Zoe Maricle and Ella Yamagata secured an impressive 6th place out of 85 relay teams! These girls raced against some of your competitive schools like Brennan, O'Conner, Cole and Taft. These three young ladies faced the challenging conditions on a demanding course at Monterey Park on the NW side of San Antonio. Their determination and courage stood out as they pushed themselves to new limits. Lillyanna our top runner, followed by Zoe Maricle who is the other top runner, putting us in the 4th spot. Ella Yamagata ended up closing out the race battling two Taft teams as she crossed the finish line. Lillyanna Terry strong performance not only set the pace for her teammates, but she also boosted morale throughout the event with her running an impressive 12 min 2 mile!
Wagner Team Three (Marina Avalos, Luna Hernandez, Erica Macias) came in 31st and team Two (Celia Avalos, Marie Cuadrado, Karina Villalobos) came in 57th. It is evident that these ladies showed excellent team unity and spirit!

The head Coach Meosha Crawford expressed immense pride in the girl's performance. "Placing 6th out of 85 teams is a fantastic achievement and it reflects how far they have come." "These ladies brought home a trophy, what a beautiful birthday gift for me" says Coach Crawford. "I have no doubt in my mind that they can only improve from here!"

Thank the Wagner cross country parents and community for coming out to support!
